In 2011 Ashley was selected to voice Jessica Finch in the family comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer and gained recognition in 2012 when cast to voice several bears and raccoons in the popular animated comedy Ernest & Celestine that starred Forest Whitaker Lambert Wilson and Pauline Brunner and follows the friendship of Ernest the bear as well as Celestine the mouse. The film earned 14 out of 29 nods it received, including the Oscar.
